brich

The Brich (in Piedmontese means steep hill, peak), or Brich di Zumaglia from the name of the municipality in which it partially resides, is a sweet natural hill, located east of Biella, cloaked by dense vegetation.

Ideal place for those who are looking for a moment of peace away from chaos, in this park the real wonder is getting lost under the branches of its many centenary trees.

On its top stands the imposing figure of the Zumaglia Castle: a very refined fake of a medieval castle which, despite its recent life, retains the charm of a bygone age.

We must dedicate a note to his name: not far from Brich there is another hill very similar to it, Mont Prevè. Both fall into the municipality of Zumaglia, deriving from zumaja, which in Biella dialect  means breast.

Admiring them from afar you can see how much they remember the detail of a female body.

About the planet

With over 4000 meters of trails, the Brich represents one of the greenest places in the province and a stage of the Great Biellese Crossing, a long hiking itinerary dedicated to natural beauty.
